Today Lucas visited a Pediatric ENT (Ear Nose & Throat) doctor. Back in December, we had taken Lucas to get a throat x-ray. The determination was "enlarged adenoids". The ENT (or Pediatric Otolaryngology, if you want to be more technical) doctor agreed with the doctor who interpreted the x-ray results: Hypertrophy of Tonsil with Adenoids. For those of you less inclined to medical speak (like Mommy), that means that his adenoids (& tonsils) are big and thus causing him some problems. Nothing really to worry about, but he would do better without them ... less snoring, be able to eat better (like he needs that), improved jaw function (better articulation of speech), normal sized airway, etc.
So, the conclusion ... looks like Lucas gets to have an adenotonsillectomy (both adenoids & tonsils removed). We'll keep you posted on how that goes, but we need to schedule the operation first. It's too bad he doesn't like ice cream ...
Here's a video showing how much fun some snow and a shovel can be ... this is last weekend, but the snow is several weeks old.
