A Relaxing Sunday

We started the day just hanging out inside goofing around with each other and some stuffed animals.

Megan was even kind enough to show off her spitting skills. At least this time she didn't have food in her mouth.

That afternoon we headed to a nearby park where Lucas had a blast. Our village is redoing all the playgrounds, and the new equipment they are putting up is pretty cool.

In the evening, Mommy must have either been slightly crazy or totally insane, because she attempted to give both Megan and Lucas a bath at the same time. Both ended up clean, so I guess it was a success.

Such a Cutie

Megan is such a happy little girl. Mommy can't believe she's almost 1 already!

Megan's new favorite pastime is walking (with help). Unfortunately, she frequently gets mad if she is pushing something and reaches a dead end. Her favorite is to hold somebody's fingers and keep walking (and good luck convincing her to let go!).

Happy Father's Day

We didn't do anything too crazy for Father's Day ... mostly just hang out and play. Relaxing days are always good. :)

Euchre Night

I'm pretty sure the last time Mommy and Daddy got together with friends to play cards was between Alicia and Lucas being born. Well, the parents figured that with four kids, two adults should be able to handle them while the other four parents played cards. It worked out pretty well, and the kids had a blast playing together.

A Badly Kept Secret

Mommy took Lucas and Megan to pick up a present for Daddy today after work. Mommy and Lucas discussed the present and how it would be a surprise for Daddy ... shh ... don't tell Daddy about it. We also discussed how we would hide it in the car so Daddy wouldn't find it until Sunday (we sang the days of the week song to get an idea of how far that was from today). Mommy tried to get Lucas's mind on other things on the way home so he would forget about Daddy's present. Within 10 seconds of seeing Daddy when we got home, Lucas blurts out "Daddy! We got a present for you! We have to hide it!" Good thing Mommy had the foresight not to tell Lucas what the present actually was.

Here's a video of Daddy and Lucas in the back yard a little over a week ago:

Lucas Visits the Dentist

Lucas had his first dentist appointment today and it went very well. Of course, how could it not go well when he gets two goodie bags worth of stuff? Lucas sat on Mommy's lap while the dentist counted his teeth and took a look them ... all good. Then the hygienist helped him play around with the tools ... spraying air, spraying water (on the TV ... oops), playing with the suction and toothbrush ... I think it helped that these were all "tools" (his favorite toys). Then he got two different kinds of toothpaste, two toothbrushes, two toys, some juice and some fish crackers. Mommy would like the dentist more, too, if she got all that stuff. :)

Chicken & the Zoo

Megan got her first taste of meat yesterday. I don't think she liked it too much. Today, after her first bite of chicken, she didn't trust Daddy and he had a hard time feeding her after that. Fortunately, we discovered that she doesn't really seem to care if we mix it in with her veggies.

We made it to the zoo again today, which Lucas loved. He really enjoys going to "find more animals". He even got to see the animals while riding with Carl in the wagon, so it was even more fun!

Watching Some Softball

While Mommy hasn't played in a few years and Daddy hasn't played yet this year, it's still fun to go to the softball games to hang out with friends. Lucas mostly socialized with Alicia and Carl while Megan chilled by herself or talked to Adara (the pic of Megan below shows her look of concentration). Rachel was also kind enough to entertain the kids with her reading skills. :)
