Happy 4th Birthday Alicia!

We had fun celebrating Alicia's birthday today. It was nice to just be able to hang out and let the kids have some fun. Drew helped the kids expend some energy while chasing bubbles. :)

We also got to "officially" celebrate Alicia's birthday at her party a couple of weeks ago. Alicia had a party at Kohl Children's Museum. After some lunch and cake, the kids had a blast exploring the different exhibits. There was a boat to drive, a crane to operate, musical instruments to play, a grocery store where they could buy food at operate the check-out counter, cars to race down tracks, a library to visit, animals to give check-ups to, and much more.

Fun at Paulas Park

Megan had a play date with her friends Abby and Morgan today. Lucas tagged along because he likes the park, too. We enjoyed lots of climbing around and finished off with a nice picnic lunch.

Just a random picture because they are soooo cute (no, I am not biased!!)!

Playing & Gardening

This weekend was spent trying to enjoy summer, which skipped right over the 70 degree temps and headed right for the high 80s. Alicia (and her parents) was kind enough to join us at the park. We also got in a little dancing to the Beatles.

More time was spent working on the gardens, though we have not yet figured out where we should plant the pumpkin plant Lucas brought home from school.

Peeing on the Potty

Today was a big day for Megan ... she peed on the potty! Such a big girl! And each time we ask her if she peed on the potty, she yells "Yeah!" and gets all excited. :) We are very proud!

Some more evidence of just how fast our little girl is growing ... here's another video of Megan talking:

A bad case of the giggles ...

Random Conversations and Pictures

January 19
How do you explain work to a 3-year-old?

Lucas: You work at Motorola?
Mommy: Yes.
Lucas: Where else do you work?
Mommy: I don't work anywhere else.
Lucas: You work at Motorola every day?
Mommy: Yes, every day.
Lucas: Every day?
Mommy: Yes.
Lucas: Why?

April 10
Mommy is running the mini vacuum in the kitchen and hears a loud thump. Mommy doesn't think she should be hearing such noises and finishes up so she can peak around the corner into the living room. As she sneaks a peak, she sees Lucas climb up on the couch and jump off ... thump.
Mommy: WHAT are you doing?
Lucas: Nothing.
Mommy: Did you just jump off the couch?
Lucas: No.
Mommy: I saw you!
Lucas: But I didn't see you.

Random sentences (yes, sentences) from Megan:
"I want candy"
"I don't want to"
Our little parrot will repeat anything! :)

And here are some random pictures ... Lucas and Megan doing a little reading, planting a flower in the garden at school with Lucas's class.

Fun with the Kluesners

We had an active weekend ... and got to have a bunch of fun with the Kluesners. We headed to the zoo on Saturday and expended a lot of energy walking around and climbing ... we had to keep reminding Lucas and Alicia that they were tall enough and they didn't need to be on the top rung of the fences ... and Megan did her best to keep up with them.

Sunday we headed to the pool with the Kluesners for a little swimming. After getting used to the water, Lucas did a great job trying to doggy-paddle. All the kids loved to jump in the water. After Alicia showed them how it was done, Lucas and Megan were happy to give it a try. Below are videos of Lucas and Megan making the plunge (courtesy of Drew).

Happy Birthday Hannah!

Introducing Hannah Marie Bormet! Congratulations to Mom, Dad and Big Brother Carl!

Hannah's stats:
Weight: 7lbs 10oz
Length: 21 inches
Birthday: April 23, 2008
Birth time: 10:41 am CDT

Over the weekend, Lucas and Carl got to try their first sleepover in the same room. Except that Lucas wanted to stay up late and Carl was up early ("Lucas, it's time to get up - the sun is out!"), they did pretty well.

A Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Suttmann

Grandma and Grandpa were in town, so we got to hang out with them! Lucas got to try out a new(ish) bike that Grandma and Grandpa brought from Grandma Krollmann. Lucas did very well for his first time out ... unfortunately, the bike may be a bit small. At least Megan can now ride the tricycle, so they can both bike at the same time. Lucas and Megan also got to read lots of books, work with puzzles, and show Grandpa and Grandma our park!

Thanks for visiting Grandma and Grandpa!
