We had lots of visitors from Cincinnati this weekend! Lucas and Megan had a blast with Aunt Barb and Grandma and Grandpa Suttmann.
Lucas demonstrated his ability to fix things with all his tools and Megan showed off her ability to sit. Both were full of smiles the whole time ... and made our visitors smiley, too.
It was even warm (and dry!) enough to play outside one day. And Megan helped Aunt Barb(ie) copy some tasty recipes. And don't forget the yummy cupcakes in honor of Barb's upcoming birthday!

Random Tid-bits
When Madagascar (the first one) came in the mail today, Lucas grabbed it and started singing "Move it, Move it!". He's never seen the movie (but he's seen parts of Madagascar 2).
When visiting Megan at school, Lucas not only makes sure Megan has some nearby toys to play with, he also hands out toys to her not-so-mobile classmates.
Megan thinks Lucas is funny. One such instance is when he runs in circles around her. He's also funny when he's dancing.
Lucas is now at least willing to try almost any meat. A new discovery that he likes: meatballs.
Megan is getting better at eating cereal. She actually gets excited about it now, but her tongue still has a habit of getting in the way.
While helping with laundry, Lucas said "That's a BIG sock!". It was daddy's sock.
The reason there aren't as many pictures of Lucas lately is because he likes to say "NO pictures of me!" ... and it isn't worth making him mad.

Stre-e-e-e-etch
This is a rare opportunity for Megan to reach for something. If Lucas is near, he makes sure all of her toys are within a foot of her head. Megan may never find the motivation to crawl, but she'll know that her brother loves her. :)
For an update on Lucas losing his extra parts (adenoids & tonsils), that event is currently scheduled for March 19. We won't find out the specific time until the day before.

Valentine's Day
Lucas helped Mommy make a couple of types of Rice Krispie treats ... original (with red sprinkles for V-day) and chocolate (mmm!). We also had heart-shaped grilled cheese for lunch.

Be Our Valentine
Happy Valentine's Day!
These have to be some of the cutest kids ever! These are some of the shots from Megan's 6-month pics. Lucas joined her in a few of the pictures. Sorry for the low-res, but that's all we're legally allowed to share.

Something New
Tonight on the way home, Lucas told me that he wanted to "eat something new". Okay, no problem. We have lots of stuff in the house that would be new to him since he previously wouldn't eat it. I started listing things I could recall being in the freezer that Lucas had previously refused to eat ...
Lucas: I want to eat something new (okay, not quite that good, but I understood him and that's what counts)
Mommy: You want to eat something new?
Lucas: Yes
Mommy: Okay. Do you want tacos?
Lucas: No
Mommy: Do you want brisket?
Lucas: No
Mommy: Do you want BBQ?
Lucas: Yes!
Mommy: You want BBQ?
Lucas: Yes! I like it.
So, with two yeses, we got home and he helped me get it out of the freezer. One more confirmation and we were preparing it in the microwave. Note that Lucas has previously liked BBQ, but not for about the last year (since he avoided most meats except for breaded chicken). Lucas proceeded to eat everything on his plate except the BBQ. I asked him if he wanted BBQ, and he told me "Yes, I like it". Okay, cool ... though Lucas might know that a little better if he actually tried it. Turns out he was apparently saving it for last. He ate all that was on his plate and even asked for more. I guess our little man is a little less anti-meat.
And for your viewing pleasure ... the dancing machine, and the girl who could fly:

Megan's 6-Month Stats
She's averaging out ... she gained more height than weight this time. She also got lots of shots this time ... and didn't want to calm down after. Good thing Lucas was with us ... she thinks it's hilarious when he dances and/or jumps up and down. As soon as he stopped, she started crying again, but he kept going long enough for her to calm down. What an excellent big brother!Height: 26 7/8 inches
Weight: 18 lbs 8 oz
