Big Brother Meets Little Sister

Lucas got to meet his new little sister for the first time yesterday. He loved pointing out the baby and her hat. He even gave Megan a kiss and hug, though the hug was a little too rough for Megan since it made her squeak.

The nurses at the hospital keep commenting on how big Megan is, but her mommy and daddy think she is itty-bitty ... after all, she is about 2 pounds less than her big brother was at this age. :) She even looked a little lost in her carseat when she and mommy went home today.

Cooler Rides & Popsicles

Wednesday, Lucas went to hang out with his buddies and watch daddy play softball. After the game, Lucas and Alicia got to ride the cooler back to the car. It was a lot more fun than walking! (sorry about the small pics, but it was from a camera phone ... all we had on hand)

Why do we send Lucas and Carl to daycare in nice outfits? At least the popsicles are worth it! :)

Lucas in his New Room

Lucas slept in his big bed for the first time Saturday. He really likes his new room, but we weren't sure if he would like his big bed. He got upset when Mommy left the room for naptime, but was good (and asleep) after she laid at the foot of his bed for 10 minutes.

Daddy tried to put him to bed Saturday night, but was not as successful. After about 40 minutes of trying to get him to go to sleep, Daddy gave up and Mommy tried ... Lucas was asleep within 10 minutes. He slept until 6:15 Sunday morning, which wasn't too bad. Normally, he probably would have gone back to sleep for a bit, but, all things considered, he did very well.

Last night, Mommy read to Lucas, did the normal bedtime routine, and said goodnight. Lucas screamed for less than 30 seconds and went right to sleep. Unfortunately, he woke up for a while around midnight, then was awake from about 4-6am.

We are very proud of our little Superdude for doing so well! Now we just need to combine his going right to sleep on Sunday night with his sleeping through the night on Saturday and we'll be all set!

Linguini Alfredo, Please

We went to dinner tonight at Red Lobster with several of our friends. We thought Lucas would like a meal of chicken fingers (the only meat he will ever eat), broccoli and rice. He kept saying "no" and pushing it away, but he didn't want a taste of Mommy or Daddy's meals, either. Apparently he wanted all of Daddy's meal. He proceeded to pull Jim's full order of Shrimp Linguini Alfredo toward himself and dug in. Daddy managed to scoop 1/2 of it onto a mini roll plate before Lucas found a shrimp in his mouth and put it back on the plate. Daddy ate what he had taken so far, and Lucas's untouched meal. Apparently Lucas does like sauce ... we just hadn't tried the right one. :)

Baby2 Update: 37 Weeks

We got to see Baby2 again today, but she's getting hard to get a good photograph of. The ultrasound tech did try, though, and we got the pictures below. She's a bit crammed in there. While we were watching her, she enjoyed gnawing on her fists and blinking a lot. Since the pictures we got were not so great, we added some help to them so you can tell what's what. It'll help if you tilt your head to the right when looking at them again.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We celebrated Daddy's birthday by having some Summer Cornhole Independence Fun. We had some friends over to enjoy the beautiful weather while the kiddies cooled off in the pool and played T-Ball. Lucas even made his first cornhole (even if he was inches from the hole).
