Proud Moments

A couple of weeks ago, the kids attended a birthday party for one of Lucas's friends. The party was at a local YMCA that had a huge climber that reached the ceiling (gymnasium height ceiling) and took up the entire wall. Megan is good at climbing, but can't always keep up. As mommy was being lazy and didn't really want to go in the climber, she asked Lucas to try to keep an eye on Megan and help her out if she had any issues. Lucas did an awesome job! If Megan got too far behind, he either waited for her to catch up or went back to see where she might have gotten stuck. When mommy told him how proud she was of what a good big brother he was, his only response was "I knoooow" (with the "quit telling me" attitude attached to it, though he did smile).

And for a proud Megan moment ... Our little girl has been doing a fantastic job with potty training. She hasn't worn a diaper or a pull-up (and yes!, those are two totally different things) at school since the end of January. On weekends Megan still wears a pull-up (it's easier to clean up :), but rarely uses it. She doesn't like to be told to go potty, but is getting pretty good about telling us when she needs to go.

A Visit to Megan's Class

Mommy visited Megan's room today and got some cute videos of Megan, her friends and her teacher Mr. Jeff while they sang about the days of the week and some little fish.

A Visit from Aunt Barb

Aunt Barb came to visit! We started the weekend with an early birthday celebration for her ... a nice dinner, and cake (of course!). Lucas and Megan did a great job singing to her. :) Aunt Barb also taught Lucas (and Megan, with lots of help) how to play Golf (the card game) over the weekend. We had a great time and love it when she comes to visit!

Random Fun

A couple of cute pics of Lucas hanging out with Carl and Hannah ...

Mommy pulled out the baby tub so Lucas and Megan could give their babies (aka stuffed animals) baths. Megan apparently decided to see if she still fits. Lucas was kind enough to cover her and stuff all of her babies around her.

What good is all that snow if you don't do anything with it? We made some snowpeople to hang out in the back yard. Megan didn't like it until Mommy made one that was actually smaller then Megan ... at which point Megan got very happy and kept hugging the little snowperson. Next time we start with the mini version. :) Lucas and Daddy did some target practice and threw snowballs at the shovels ... there were lots of hits!

The Blizzard

Some fun before the blizzard ...

And then came the blizzard ...

Somewhere out there is our street ...

Megan had a lot of fun carrying snow from one side of the driveway to the other. Lucas did a great job helping shovel some of the snow (thank goodness we had the snow thrower for most of it, though!). Oh, yeah ... and there was lots of climbing!

Starting the New Year

We enjoyed New Years Eve with the Kluesners. The kids even convinced us to play BNL's Jingle Bells one last time before putting it away for the next year ... and they danced up a storm!

Our annual New Year's Day Dinner ...
