Fun with Visiting Family

While Grandma and Grandpa Suttmann and Aunt Barb were in town, we got to do lots of other fun things (as if a big party isn't enough). Megan and Lucas had a good time showing Grandma and Grandpa one of the new parks nearby.


We might have done better with the group shot with Grandma and Grandpa if Lucas hadn't decided it was fun to keep his eyes squinted shut.

We also got to show Aunt Barb some of Brookfield Zoo. She hadn't been since she was a little kid and was impressed with all the changes. After our picnic lunch, we went through the dinosaur exhibit, which was pretty cool, but Lucas was ready to leave when we got to the end ... I think all the big dinosaurs were a bit much for him. We also got to see lots of bears and some big cats, too.

Megan's 1st Birthday Party

Megan's first birthday party went great! Megan enjoyed hanging out with some of her friends, and Lucas had fun hanging out with his friends, too. Aunt Barb as well as Grandma and Grandpa Suttmann even came up from Cincinnati for the occasion! Megan took about 15 minutes or so to really get into her cake, but she decided what the rest of us already know ... cakes taste yummy! Lucas was even kind enough to help Megan with her frosting while she was still deciding if the taste was worth the mess. In the end, it was a great day of fun with family and friends.

Grandma Krollmann Helps Prepare

Grandma Krollmann came to visit for a few days to help us get ready for Megan's 1st birthday party! Megan and Lucas had a lot of fun playing with Grandma while she was here.

Another New Park

Lucas quickly decided that his favorite thing at the latest new park that went up (it finished last week) was the climbing wall. He'd never done one before, but managed to zip all the way to the top with no issues. Impressive.

Unfortunately for Megan, most of the equipment at the park is for climbing (or are really fast slides).

Megan's First Eye Exam

Megan had her first eye exam today through the InfantSEE program (free eye exam for infants under one year old).

She did great and all looks good. :)

A Relaxing Sunday

We started the day just hanging out inside goofing around with each other and some stuffed animals.

Megan was even kind enough to show off her spitting skills. At least this time she didn't have food in her mouth.







That afternoon we headed to a nearby park where Lucas had a blast. Our village is redoing all the playgrounds, and the new equipment they are putting up is pretty cool.

In the evening, Mommy must have either been slightly crazy or totally insane, because she attempted to give both Megan and Lucas a bath at the same time. Both ended up clean, so I guess it was a success.
