Lucas's 2-Year Stats

Lucas did great at his doctor appointment today. Of course, it helped that the doctor came in blowing bubbles. :) Lucas didn't even mind when they pricked his finger to get some blood for a test ... he just watched with interest to see what the nurse was doing. He didn't do quite as well with the flu shot, though, but was over it in no time.

Lucas is right on track for his age ... the doctor was very happy with his development level. Go Superdude! Here are his updated stats ...

Height: 34 3/4 inches
Weight: 34 pounds

Lucas and Alicia demonstrate how smart they are and show off their reading skills.

Here is Lucas hanging out with his Suttmann cousins last weekend ... Isaac (2 3/4 years) holding his brother Eli (1.5 months), Nicholas (3 years) holding his brother Jonah (4 months), and Lucas holding (with help) Megan.

One Crazy Weekend

It was a crazy weekend, ending with Mommy's computer crashing. Until we can get it back up, the posts will likely be lacking in pictures. However, we want to keep everyone up to date, so we'll keep posting and add the pictures later.

The weekend started by taking a trip in the new Odyssey to Cincinnati. Lucas loves the fact that he can watch videos in the car (unfortunately, since this was his first ride in the new car, he thinks he can watch videos every time).

Lucas and Megan got to hang out with all their grandparents and Aunt Stephanie and Nicholas during the day on Friday.

They spent their evening going for their first boat ride Friday night aboard the Destiny for Mike and Dawn's rehearsal dinner. Lucas loved watching the water go by.

Saturday night was Mike and Dawn's wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony capped off with a fun reception. Lucas loved dancing with all his cousins, and we got to show off Megan to all the family that hadn't met her yet.

Sunday was Lucas's 2nd Birthday Party, Part II (the Cincinnati version). Unfortunately, Hurricane Ike caused a lot of damage in the Cincinnati area (lots of wind, downed trees, and no power), so half the guests were unable to make it. For those that did make it, we hung out on the porch and inside so no one got pelted by flying acorns. I think Lucas is starting to expect cake any time we have a fairly large gathering of people. :) The party went well, and Lucas was able to expend a good amount of energy with his cousins.

We headed back for home (and a place with power) on Monday, and were fortunate to have no flooding problems from the storm that hit Chicagoland.

Whew, I think that covers the major details.

Happy Birthday, Superdude!

Lucas's 2nd Birthday Party

Lucas had his 2nd birthday party yesterday. I think he had a lot of fun playing outside with all of his friends. The kiddies also had a good time in the "balloon pit" that was created in the living room. And, of course, they all liked the cake. :)

Megan's 1-Month Stats

Megan is doing great! She's in the 75th percentile, so she's a little more of an average size kid than Lucas. :)

Height: 21 5/8 inches
Weight: 9 lbs 6 oz

Lucas Finally gets McDonald's

For the most part, Lucas has been sleeping better for the last week. Let's hope the trend continues.

Lucas had Family Gathering this week at daycare. His room usually has this gathering once a month where parents and siblings are invited to join them for some random activity. This month's activity was a McDonald's lunch, so Lucas got his first McDonald's. He didn't do bad for a kid that doesn't usually eat meat or french fries (though his teachers did supplement with green beans and fruit, which he liked).

And some miscellaneous pictures ... Megan working on tummy time, tummy time with her big brother, Lucas getting ready for bath time, hanging out with Daddy, mmm ... tasty cupcake, and Lucas chillin' in his room.

Lucas and the Big Bad Bed

Lucas seemed to be doing better in his bed ... he actually slept through the night a few nights ago, and then only needed help once the following night. Even if he does wake up, he isn't always yelling for us ... a couple of nights ago, Jim thought Lucas's breathing seemed unusually loud, so he went to check on him and found him sleeping on the floor next to the gate in his doorway. Lucas showed no signs of waking up when Jim moved him back to his bed.

Unfortunately, Lucas fell out of bed for the first time last night. Nothing like hearing a sudden THUMP when everything in the house is (mostly) quiet. Other than having a rude awakening, Lucas seemed ready to head right back to sleep, though. Too bad he didn't stay that way ... he woke up several times, and was awake for an hour at one point. Hopefully the "sleeping through the night" trend continues to get better if he doesn't fall out of bed.

On a different note, Lucas doesn't seem to like the switch between long and short sleeves. When we changed from long to short sleeves for spring, he kept trying to pull the sleeves down to his wrist. Now that he's wearing long sleeves to sleep in again, he keeps trying to pull them up because he doesn't think his sleeves should go all the way to his wrists. He's so cute. :)

I tried uploading a cute video of Megan, but it does not seem to want to work, so I give up. I'll try to get another video of her soon and post it.

A Visit from Great Aunt Barb

Thank you Aunt Barb! It was great to have you stay with us and help out for the week!

Over the weekend, Daddy also tried to take Lucas for a ride in the bike trailer. Lucas did well with putting on the helmet, but wasn't very happy once he was strapped into the trailer. Hopefully he can get used to it since I think Daddy would like to take Lucas on rides with him.

The whole family took a walk around the block ... Lucas decided it was more fun to push his bike than to ride it.

And a picture of each of the little (and not so little) ones ...
