Lucas Finally gets McDonald's

For the most part, Lucas has been sleeping better for the last week. Let's hope the trend continues.

Lucas had Family Gathering this week at daycare. His room usually has this gathering once a month where parents and siblings are invited to join them for some random activity. This month's activity was a McDonald's lunch, so Lucas got his first McDonald's. He didn't do bad for a kid that doesn't usually eat meat or french fries (though his teachers did supplement with green beans and fruit, which he liked).

And some miscellaneous pictures ... Megan working on tummy time, tummy time with her big brother, Lucas getting ready for bath time, hanging out with Daddy, mmm ... tasty cupcake, and Lucas chillin' in his room.

Lucas and the Big Bad Bed

Lucas seemed to be doing better in his bed ... he actually slept through the night a few nights ago, and then only needed help once the following night. Even if he does wake up, he isn't always yelling for us ... a couple of nights ago, Jim thought Lucas's breathing seemed unusually loud, so he went to check on him and found him sleeping on the floor next to the gate in his doorway. Lucas showed no signs of waking up when Jim moved him back to his bed.

Unfortunately, Lucas fell out of bed for the first time last night. Nothing like hearing a sudden THUMP when everything in the house is (mostly) quiet. Other than having a rude awakening, Lucas seemed ready to head right back to sleep, though. Too bad he didn't stay that way ... he woke up several times, and was awake for an hour at one point. Hopefully the "sleeping through the night" trend continues to get better if he doesn't fall out of bed.

On a different note, Lucas doesn't seem to like the switch between long and short sleeves. When we changed from long to short sleeves for spring, he kept trying to pull the sleeves down to his wrist. Now that he's wearing long sleeves to sleep in again, he keeps trying to pull them up because he doesn't think his sleeves should go all the way to his wrists. He's so cute. :)

I tried uploading a cute video of Megan, but it does not seem to want to work, so I give up. I'll try to get another video of her soon and post it.

A Visit from Great Aunt Barb

Thank you Aunt Barb! It was great to have you stay with us and help out for the week!

Over the weekend, Daddy also tried to take Lucas for a ride in the bike trailer. Lucas did well with putting on the helmet, but wasn't very happy once he was strapped into the trailer. Hopefully he can get used to it since I think Daddy would like to take Lucas on rides with him.

The whole family took a walk around the block ... Lucas decided it was more fun to push his bike than to ride it.

And a picture of each of the little (and not so little) ones ...

Megan Meets Lucas's Friends

Megan got to meet more of Lucas's friends (and their parents) over the weekend. It was a little chaotic, but I think everyone had fun.

A Visit from Grandma Krollmann

Thank you Grandma Krollmann! We really appreciate you staying with us and helping out! Lucas already misses Grandma (as he keeps saying "Grandma", and then can't find her).

It's a good thing his butt is padded ... Lucas decided it's more fun than landing on his feet ...

Megan's Weight Check & Misc. Lucas Updates

Megan had a weight check this morning and she's doing great! On Monday, she weighed in at 6 lbs. 4 oz. Today, she weighed in at 6 lbs. 12 oz. The doctor asked what we were feeding her and if it was straight cream. I guess there are no worries that she is getting enough to eat. Since she is doing so well with gaining weight, that will also help her get rid of the jaundice faster.

It must be rough to be 10 days old and already bored.

For an update on Lucas and his big boy bed ... we had some good evenings and some bad evenings before Megan was born. Since Megan has come home, Lucas has slept through the night once. He seems unable to fall asleep on his own, and cannot comfort himself back to sleep in the middle of the night (mommy or daddy have to lay with him). Hopefully he gets better as he gets used to the new changes in the house. While he doesn't seem to be doing fantastic with his new bed, he does love his sister ... he is frequently wanting to give her kisses and hugs. :)

We also got an update on Lucas's upcoming transition at daycare ... he will get into the room that we wanted (he already knows and likes the teacher, Mr. Jeff). He will also be in the same classroom as Alicia and Carl! What more could he want than to spend his days with his best buds?

Down with the Bilirubin!

Following in the steps of her big brother, Megan is also going for the fake-suntan look that jaundice provides. Fortunately, after almost a week of having her heels poked, her levels seem to have peaked and she will be able to avoid the bili-blanket that Lucas had to deal with.

And until we get suttmann.com/krollmann.net up and running again (specifically the photo gallery), I'll probably be posting an excessive number of pictures to the blog, so here goes ... Mommy and Megan, Daddy watching Lucas hold Megan's hand, Grandma Krollmann having fun with Lucas and Megan, Megan keeping the pacifier in, Lucas showing Megan more love, and one of our first new family photos.

Big Brother Meets Little Sister

Lucas got to meet his new little sister for the first time yesterday. He loved pointing out the baby and her hat. He even gave Megan a kiss and hug, though the hug was a little too rough for Megan since it made her squeak.

The nurses at the hospital keep commenting on how big Megan is, but her mommy and daddy think she is itty-bitty ... after all, she is about 2 pounds less than her big brother was at this age. :) She even looked a little lost in her carseat when she and mommy went home today.
